Remote Installation
SurveySolutions Standard and Professional Server Installation
Perseus technicians will require access to the server via VNC, Remote Desktop/Terminal Services, or WebEx with Administrator privileges. Web server configurations include but are not limited to IIS, Apache, and iPlanet ; your survey deployment needs will be addressed beforehand. It is assumed that the environment will allow the Perseus survey processor to be run as an executable for all Windows installations and the server will permit .exe files to be run. If you do not want to allow executables to run on the server, a technician can quote pricing for Perl installation and necessary components on a per server basis.
SurveySolutions Enterprise Server Installation
As described in the SurveySolutions Standard and Professional Server Installation description above, along with connection to your enterprise SQL database. Supported SQL databases are Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, and DB2. Any necessary database client tools will need to be installed and configured prior to installation.
SurveySolutions Enterprise Server Installation with Database Configuration
If you need assistance with database configuration and set up, Perseus technicians can perform a complete Enterprise installation (configuring your existing database and web server).
Linux/Unix Standard and Professional Server Installation
Perseus technicians will require access to your server via FTP, Telnet, VNC, Remote Desktop/Terminal Services, or WebEx. You will also need to create a user with sufficient privileges to access the web server directory structure (document root, cgi-bin, etc).
Linux/Unix web server configurations include but are not restricted to Apache and iPlanet. Your server will need to have the following components installed prior to the installation:

Perl version 5.0 or higher
The above component is available from http://www.cpan.org.
Verification and performance of the Perl module will be required before installation can begin. |
Information about web server configuration and where and how you would like clients to publish surveys and retrieve data will be discussed prior to the installation.
Due to the nature of varying server environments a Perseus technician will evaluate the server environment before determining the final cost of your installation.

As described in the SurveySolutions Standard and Professional Server Installation description above, along with including connection to your enterprise SQL database.
